After careful deliberation, we have decided to cancel our Summer Professional Development Conference scheduled for July 14-15 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. As reported yesterday, Tennessee is one of 21 states that has experienced a recent surge of coronavirus cases. While many special precautions had been arranged with the conference center and while there are currently no specific state or local regulations prohibiting our event, we decided out of an abundance of caution to cancel for this year. Safety remains our highest priority. We are disappointed that our team along with teachers and administrators from ICU schools across the country will be unable to come together to grow and collaborate this summer. Please note that we are refunding 100% of the registration costs.
Also, we wanted to let you know of some of our “virtual” PD options. We are currently offering an online PD Grade Cleanse course (more info here). Additionally, I and my team have already been involved in several virtual trainings with districts and schools. Contact us to discuss training opportunities. We can customize the format, time, topics, presenters, etc. to address specific school/district needs. Defeating apathy, improving the quality of assignments, and exploring healthy grading practices is more important than ever!
